Buddy and his wife of 30 years, Swanette
Born and raised in the area, this Conroe native was groomed to be a photographer from an early age.  During the moments when his time was not occupied by athletic endeavors, Buddy was watching and learning photography techniques from his father--who was incidently no stranger to a camera.  Although his father was an optometrist by profession, at heart he was an adventurer with a touch of the shutterbug.  During their many forays into the trenches and valleys of America's heartland, father and son would capture the beauty of nature as seen through the eye of a camera lens.  Pictures would be taken, film would be developed and prints would be framed and hung from the walls of the Smith household.  The final result went on to affect everyone as they  were constantly surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of snow capped mountains, autumn tinged leaves, and crystal clear waters.  These framed memories of places they had been brought the family closer together as they reminisced almost daliy of all the good times they had enjoyed.

Photographs are more than just glossy pieces of paper--they are memories that can never fade or age.  They crisply and instantly recall moments in time that the human mind naturally tarnishes and twists throughout the years.  While our ability to regurgitate information may dwindle-- photographs steadfastly march on.   It was this knowledge which led to Buddy Smith's transition into a professional photographer.

After capturing many weddings, proms, recitals, sports games, reunions, vacations, and candid moments, he has come to specialize in photographing sports teams ranging from the three year old's at the YMCA to the Varsity members of the Conroe Tiger basketball team.
